The classic bourbon drink that has stood the test of time.
Use a Rye bourbon to enhance the flavor or Woodford for a classic, mellow flavor.
Ingredients:
2 ounces bourbon (or rye whiskey)
1/4 oz simple syrup (1:1 water to sugar ratio)
2 to 3 dashes Angostura bitters
Ice
Garnish: orange peel
Directions:
Add the simple syrup & bitters to a glass and stir to combine, 20-30 seconds
Fill with ice but 1 large cube is ideal.
Pour the bourbon over the ice and stir well.
Add an orange peel. I like to squeeze it to express the oils over the drink, then rub the skin once or twice around the rim. It's all about getting the oils onto the drink.

Maple Old Fashioned - Add 1 tsp of maple syrup
