It's the middle of June, and you need a dessert. This time of year, a classic strawberry pie is the perfect choice.
The sweet strawberries sitting in a slightly salty crust make the perfect combination.
Not only is this a tried and true family recipe, the result is a show-stopping strawberry pie!
Ingredients:
Crust:
1.5 cup flour
2 tbs sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup oil
2 tbs milk
Glaze for berries:
1 pack of strawberries
1 cup sugar
3 tbs cornstarch
1 cup water
1/2 small package of strawberry jello
Instructions:
For the crust:
Mix the ingredients right in the pie pan. Press into the pan after mixed.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes
For the glaze:
In a small saucepan, Mix the sugar and cornstarch then add the water. Cook until thick. Add the jello mixture and mix.
Allow to cool.
Add the strawberries to the curst then pour the glaze over the strawberries in the crust.
Refrigerate.
