One of my favorite cookies as a kid was Grandma Motta's Holly Wreath cookies.
She only put a few out at a time because she knew I would eat them all at once.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1.75 oz cream cheese
1.5 tsp vanilla
1 cup sifted flour
1/4 cup sugar
Sprinkles
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375.
Cream butter and cheese, add sugar and cream well. Add the vanilla and slowly add the sifted flour and mix well.
Chill dough slightly.
Put the dough through a cookie press on to a chilled, ungreased aluminum cookie sheet using the star plate.
Bake for 8 minutes. Do not let them brown. You should see just a little browning on the very bottom of the cookie.
Very gently remove to a cooling rack. The cookies will be very soft still.
Add sprinkles to the cookies and let cool.
