How many times do you see a recipe that says, "The Best...". When I see those, I usually skip over it. But, everything you put this on will be described as "The Best Thing Ever". After tasting this, you might just call it "The Best BBQ Sauce Ever", but keep reading.
Have you ever had a BBQ Sauce that makes everything better? If not, give this a try. The sauce has the perfect balance of sweet and heat from the ketchup and honey then adds a warm, smokey flavor from the molasses & maple syrup that brings all the flavors together.
I have served this on both grilled chicken and pulled pork. Both times, many people have said that was the best chicken or pork they have had. The difference was the BBQ Sauce.
This is a must to make for the next time you need a BBQ sauce.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup beer, porter or stout work the best
3/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup dark molasses
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tsp dijon mustard
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp chipotle chili powder
.5 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp kosher salt
Directions:
In a pot, combine the beer, ketchup, honey, dijon, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder and salt.
Bring the sauce to a boil over medium- high heat.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, until thickened.
Cool and store in the fridge then put on everything.
